Joomla! Weekly News, 16-2008

Let’s see what are this week’s news about Joomla!

It has been announced a new interesting extension, called Nooku, that will be concurrent to Joom!Fish, that will let you build multilingual sites. From the screenshots, it looks like an interesting project

Packt Publishing launched a new book about Joomla! 1.5, called Building Websites with Joomla! 1.5. If this is written well like the other Packt books, this will be a must have :)

Let’s look at the news about extensions:

Nooku looks brilliant. And it’s framework. The ability to write plug-ins on the back of Nooku will enable developers to create improved integration site-wide.

This will mark Joomla technology taking a great leap ahead of Drupal. Great to see. Let’s see how long it takes for Drupal to catch up.

Not that I’ve used Nooku yet, but if it lives up to its promise (it is endorsed by the United Nations and Belgium Police) it’s got to be an improvement over Joom!Fish.

Thank you for this comment, David. I do think that Nooku will be a serious competitor for Joom!Fish, I can’t wait to have a look at it when it will be released.

It looks like the Drupal guys already put an eye (or two) on Nooku ;) http://nooku.org/buzz/34-buzz/55-drupal-lovers-find-nooku.html

And that’s a double good news!
