A new Wordpress Plugin: using the search engine keywords

In the last few days I’ve been planning and developing a new Wordpress plugin. Its purpose is to show aimed information to the visitors coming in from Search Engines.

What the plugin does is to determine if the visitore is coming from a Search Engine, than consider the keyword that the user searched for and display a custom message.

This custom message will be prepared through the Wordpress Admin interface. In this admin panel, you will have the possibility to insert a keyword and set the custom message (written in XHTML) to be shown in the frontend, related to that keyword.

So, if the visitor comes to the website searching for “Wordpress Plugins”, if we create a keyword named “Wordpress Plugins” that shows the message “Are you looking for Wordpress Plugins? You’ve come to the right place!”, this phrase will be displayed inside our blog, wherever you want it to be shown.

What’s the purpose of this plugin? It can show the right information to the right user, giving him the information he wants. Or, perhaps, the information we want to give him.

Using your web analytics sofware you can find the most used keywords that lead to your website, and than using this plugin you can set some custom rules for those keywords. You can use this plugin to show a list of affiliate referral links related to whatever the user il searching for.

This plugin will be released in the next days, and will be released for free, under the GNU GPL.

Don’t forget to come back to try it! ;-)

EDIT: The plugin has been published, click here to find my new Wordpress Plugin!
